In short
- We use your lectures to produce your lectures. We do not sell personal data or use recordings for advertising.
- The website keeps your language choice in a cookie and nothing for advertising.
- You can ask for your data to be deleted at any time.

Who is responsible
Moallem is responsible for the personal data described here, except where a university sends us its lectures (section 5). Write to us about your data through the contact page.
What we collect
From the website's form: your name, work email, phone if you give it, institution, country, role and what you write, with the page and browser it came from. From an account: your email, sign-in codes and your workspace. From a lecture: the recording, with the image and voice of the people in it, anything you add to it, and what the Service makes from it.
Cookies
The website sets a cookie that remembers your language. The app uses the cookies it needs to keep you signed in. There are no advertising cookies.
How we use it
To reply to your request, sign you in, produce your lectures, send service messages, keep the Service secure and meet legal obligations. We send marketing email only if you asked for it.
Lectures from institutions
When a university uses Moallem, it decides how the personal data in its lectures is used, and we handle that data on its instructions. If you appear in a lecture your university sent us, contact the university first; we will help it respond.
Automated processing
Lectures are processed by automated systems, including artificial-intelligence services from providers we engage, to transcribe, plan and illustrate them. We send content to those providers only to produce your lectures.
Who we share it with
The members of your own workspace; providers working for us under contract (hosting, storage, email and AI processing); and authorities where the law requires it. Nobody else.
Where it is processed
Our providers may store and process data outside your country. Where the law of your country, such as the UAE's data protection law or Saudi Arabia's PDPL, requires safeguards for such transfers, we put them in place.
How long we keep it
Account and lecture data while your account is open, a request from the form for as long as we need to answer it and keep a record, and technical logs for a limited time. Then we delete or anonymise it.
Security
Connections are encrypted and access to content is limited to the people and systems that need it. If something goes wrong that affects your data, we will tell you as the law requires.
Your rights
You may ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to how we use it, withdraw a consent, or complain to your data protection authority. Ask us through the contact page; we may need to confirm who you are first.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we tell account holders about a significant change.
